This is the start of a new adventure.  Together we made the decision that this is the time to submit our mission papers.  We have been planning this for over 12 years.  First on the check list was buying a home in a gated community and consolidating our belongings.  Then we bought our truck and our 5th wheel so we would have our own living space if we were called to a mission in the states.  Then we slowly began selling our businesses. This was finally accomplished in 2008.  Then we hit a few bumps in the road and decided to wait awhile.  I used that opportunity to return to college.  In April of this year I ended my college career and our goal of going on a mission was put on the fast track.  All documents were completed and submitted about 10 days ago.  Now we wait.
According to the church website the call can come in as little as 4-5 weeks once they recieve the papers in Salt Lake.  It can also take much longer depending on where we are called to serve.  So for now, we are going to take our grandchildren and do some traveling with them in the fifth wheel.
We have had a few people try to guess where we might be sent.  One person says Australia and another says New York.
While we may have places we would prefer over others, we are content to see what the Lord has in store for us.

Blogspot set-up day

June 1, 2012
It appears that my set-up has been successful.  France Family Travels will continue as we move forward with preparing for our mission call.  The doctor visits, dentist visits and paperwork have been completed. We met with our bishop and our stake president.  Now we wait..probably not so patiently...for our call to come.
